Galactic Decoder: Unlock the Secrets of the Galaxy with this Aurebesh Decoder App.
Galactic Decoder helps Star Wars fans to explore the galaxy by allowing them to point their iOS device at any Aurebesh writing and instantly read it. Works offline, with no subscriptions or ads.
This is the app that turns your camera into a translator for a galaxy far, far away. Scan writings with live video or a photo, or type using the manual decoder to practice Aurebesh yourself. Use it whether you’re at the edge of the galaxy, or with writings you may find closer to home. Everything runs on your device, so it works offline and no images you scan ever leave your phone. It’s a one-time purchase from a tiny indie studio that trained its own model on thousands of hand-tagged glyphs.
Key Features
- Offline Scanning: Scan writings offline with ease, no internet required.
- Manual Decoder: Practice typing in Aurebesh with the manual Decoder feature.
- Photo Capture: Capture and save your scans to your photos library.
Availability
Available on iOS, priced at $1.99.

About the Developer
Saltsquatch Labs is an incredibly small team of dedicated iOS developers. Only one is accounted for, the others occasionally leave footprints.
Our team of dedicated sasquatch have been building iOS apps for various folks and companies since 2009. Some you’ve heard of, a lot you probably haven’t. But always for others, and never for themselves.
(There was a dark time when they released stuff for Windows Phone, but they prefer not to talk about it.)
However, they’ve finally decided it’s time to come out of hiding, share some of the goofy stuff they’ve built with the rest of the world.
